About GTA and Xbox 360
Rockstar unveiled GTA 4 for Xbox 360 on 29th April 2008. Other games GTA games on Xbox 360 include GTA San Andreas, the Lost and Damned, the Ballad of Gay Tony, GTA Liberty City and GTA 5. All GTA games released for the original Xbox are compatible with Xbox 360, but the player has to use a free software emulator.
Comparing GTA with Other Consoles
There is a huge difference when playing GTA 4 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 or PC. First off, the consoles have entirely different graphics quality. The game looks sharper on 360 due to the increased resolution of the buffer frame at 1280×720. When placed side by side with other consoles, a player may notice slight differences such as more detailed trees on Xbox 360 and lower-quality mirror reflection on PlayStation 3.
Regarding installation, GTA 4 comes on a DVD for the Xbox 360 and a Blu-ray disc for the PS3. There is a mandatory 3,339 MB on the PS3 hard disk, and it takes about seven minutes to install. It takes around 100 seconds for the game to load on either system.
In terms of internet functionality, the games is more or less similar on all consoles. The performance is the same on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, even though Xbox Live’s servers tend to cope better. Most levels in every consoles stick to 30 frames per second. The 360 has some texture issues, which may be as a result of bandwidth limitations.
Controls
The most important controls to master in GTA 4 are when the player is in the vehicle and on foot. The left trigger, for instance, will reverse or apply the brake to the vehicle. The light stick button, on the other hand, will engage slow motion while in cinematic camera.
When on foot, the right stick button will let the player look behind, or zoom aim when targeting. The B button will reload the weapon, hang up and throw or counter punch. The X button will make the characters in the game jump while the right trigger will fire a gun. It is worth noting that the more a player is familiar with the controls, the easier it becomes to win the game.
